about me

Hello and a warm welcome to my blog!

My name is Corita. I am a bride-to-be preparing for the big day in 2013 and also facing the prospect of planning our wedding while getting to grips with being a first time mum. Fun (and busy) times ahead! A marketing professional by day, that is increasingly spending more and more of my time with my head stuck in magazines, blogs and forums about all things weddings, as well as scouring the internet for the many questions that keep cropping up in my mind about babies!

While I'm not wedding planning or baby researching, you're most likely to find me eating out with my H2B (husband to be), spending time with family or friends, shopping or travelling to and from Birmingham. I am originally a Brummie, but now a permanent resident in the hustle and bustle of London.

I decided to start this blog for a few reasons:
1/ as a fun way to share my journey from bride to wife, including sharing my wedding plans with family, friends and others with an interest in weddings or other brides seeking some inspiration, 2/ as a creative outlet for me to express my thoughts, hopes, fears and inspirations especially relating to my impending motherhood, 3/ an avenue to keep me busy and entertained, not to mention keep my creative energy alive whilst on maternity leave (should be starting this in the next 2 months).

So basically, my life is now completely geared towards wedding and baby planning, hence the name, "Wedding Mama" and the creation of this blog.

Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I love writing it :-)

Hi!
I kinda stumbled across your blog whilst browsing google! Basically, I have quite a few friends getting married this year & next, and I was doing the whole 'hmm what will my wedding be like' thing, getting ideas! I'm not even engaged yet!! But I have been with my bf a few years & we have been talking about marriage!
The main reason for commenting is because I seriously feel I can relate to you! I'm also from the midlands(East midlands though!), I live in London now. I'm half Jamaican/half British and my bf is Nigerian. I'm still becoming familiar with many of the Nigerian ways! I'm just happy I found your blog, it's kinda put my mind at ease for when 'my time' comes!
All the best for the BIG day!

Hi Grace
Thanks so much for your comment. Wow, we do have a lot in common. I too spent a lot of time thinking about 'My wedding' before I was even engaged lol. Hopefully my experience can give you some good ideas on how to integrate both cultures when your day comes.
It took me a while to get used to the Nigerian customs and I'm still learning to be honest, but if you need any advice please feel free to email me :-)
